Emotional intelligence tools

These four free tools let you explore emotion words, practice precise labels, or prepare a conversation plan. Each offers a concrete interaction you can try in your browser. They do not determine your feelings, provide therapy, or replace a conversation with the person involved.

Explore your emotions and relationships with the free EQTiger assessment.

  • Interactive emotion wheel

This interactive emotion wheel helps you move from a broad feeling to a more specific word. Select a core family to explore definitions, then choose a word to consider. It is an original EQTiger vocabulary aid, not a validated model or a claim that emotions fit neatly into six categories.

  • Feelings finder

The feelings finder offers words to consider after you select sensations and context. It cannot determine how you feel, and the same sensation may fit several experiences. Compare the suggestions with your own account and select a word only if it is useful.

  • Name it to tame it: labeling practice

This “name it to tame it” practice asks you to choose the most precise emotion word for six written situations. The feedback explains how nearby words differ. The title is a familiar phrase, not a promise that naming a feeling will make it disappear or become manageable.

  • Conflict conversation planner

The conflict conversation planner turns your notes into a structured, printable conversation plan. Fill in what happened, what matters, a request, and how you will listen or pause. Your writing stays in this page’s memory until you leave or reset it; printing creates a copy you control.

Who it is for

Adults who want a vocabulary aid, short practice activity, or a written plan for an ordinary conversation.

Pick a tool by the action you need

Use the emotion wheel when you have a broad feeling in mind and want more precise words. Use the feelings finder when you can describe the context or a sensation but are unsure where to start. Both allow you to reject the suggested language.

Choose the labeling practice to compare words in six fictional situations. Choose the conversation planner when you already know the issue and need a place to organize an opening, a request, a listening question, and a pause plan.

Your interpretation stays yours

The vocabulary tools provide alternatives, not conclusions about your inner state. A body sensation does not uniquely identify an emotion. A scenario answer teaches a distinction in language, not a rule for deciding how another person feels.

The planner uses the exact text you enter. It does not rewrite your message or make decisions for you. You can print the preview or save it as a PDF using your browser. Reloading or leaving the page clears the draft.

Move from a screen to a small action

After choosing a word, try it in a sentence about a specific event. After drafting a plan, review whether your request is something another person can answer. If you want to continue on paper, each tool links to relevant free printables.

For broader reflection, the full EQTiger assessment explores six dimensions across 36 items. You can use every tool here without taking it or purchasing its optional full report.
