Strong EQTiger scores: what 80 to 100 means

EQTiger labels scores from 80 to 100 Strong. This is a favorable descriptive result within the assessment, not proof of flawless behavior or exceptional standing in a population. A score of 100 still leaves room for uncertainty, learning, and mistakes.

A high result is still tied to the assessment

Strong means the scored responses fall in the upper band of the EQTiger scale. It does not establish that every real response will be constructive or that everyone experiences you the same way. A short assessment samples limited situations and self-descriptions. Read the result as information about that sample rather than a certificate that emotional difficulty has been solved.

A score of one hundred is the maximum output of this scoring system. It does not mean perfect empathy, permanent composure, or an inability to hurt another person. Nor can it be converted into a score from a named instrument. The upper endpoint describes the scale; it does not remove the difference between recognizing a response, describing a habit, and carrying out that behavior under real constraints.

Keep strengths connected to examples

Choose a recent situation that illustrates the result. What did you notice, what did you do, and what feedback or outcome supports your interpretation? Then identify a situation where the same action was harder. This paired reflection lets you recognize useful behavior while preserving room for context. You do not need to manufacture a weakness, but you should avoid assuming that the strongest interpretation is automatically the most accurate one.

Be especially cautious about using a favorable score to overrule someone else's account of an interaction. If a friend says they felt dismissed, the result does not establish that they must be mistaken. Ask what happened and examine the behavior. A specific concern deserves a specific response. Defending the score can distract from a repair that would be simpler and more useful.

Example: listening well while making a wrong assumption

Imagine you listen patiently to a colleague and then offer help they did not request. Your intention may be considerate, and your listening may be a real strength, but the next step could still miss their preference. Ask what support would be useful and accept the correction. A strength remains valuable when you adapt it; it does not require every application of the skill to have been right the first time.

For a stretch practice, ask one person for an example of where your communication could be clearer. Make the request voluntary and avoid arguing with the example immediately. You can later evaluate its context and decide what to change. The exercise is not about lowering your opinion of yourself. It is about keeping information available even when a favorable assessment result might tempt you to stop looking.

Use confidence responsibly

A Strong band does not establish ethical intent, professional competence, or relationship compatibility. Those questions require their own evidence. EQTiger is intended for adult self-reflection and does not make hiring or other consequential judgments. Keep responsibility for your actions separate from how reassuring the report feels.

If you are exploring the product, the free result includes a profile and strongest area; personal scores and bands belong to the optional paid report. If you already have a Strong result, select a dimension guide and identify one context where you want to maintain or extend a useful habit. The practical goal is dependable conduct with room for correction, not protecting a perfect-looking number.
