Established EQTiger scores: what 60 to 79 means

EQTiger labels scores from 60 to 79 Established. The band describes responses within this assessment and does not establish mastery or standing among other adults. Use it to identify a useful pattern while remaining curious about situations where that pattern is less consistent.

Established is a descriptive band

A score of seventy is in the Established range on EQTiger. It does not mean you handle seventy percent of emotional situations well or that your emotional intelligence is seventy percent complete. The number summarizes scored responses under this assessment's rules. A real interaction contains information and demands that a short questionnaire cannot fully represent, so keep the claim narrower than a prediction of everyday success.

Check whether you are reading the overall result or one dimension. An Established overall score may summarize different strengths and growth areas. A dimension result describes only that part of the framework. Look for a specific pattern you recognize, and notice where your experience does not fit. Both kinds of examples can help you decide how much weight to place on the interpretation.

Look for conditions that support the pattern

If the result seems familiar, ask when the relevant behavior is easiest. You may communicate clearly when there is time to prepare but become vague during unexpected requests. You may listen patiently with friends while rushing colleagues. Those differences are useful because they identify the conditions around the behavior. The next practice can focus on transferring one useful action to a setting where it is less established.

Avoid treating a small numerical difference as a precise estimate of improvement. A seventy-two and a seventy-four are different outputs, but EQTiger has not established that the difference corresponds to a meaningful change in daily functioning. The band can organize reflection without supporting that stronger claim. Real examples and feedback provide context the number alone cannot supply.

Example: extending clarity to an inconvenient conversation

Imagine you usually make clear plans but avoid clarifying a request when the other person is already frustrated. A stretch goal could be acknowledging the frustration and asking one practical question about the next step. You do not need to solve the entire disagreement immediately. The action is to preserve clarity when the emotional tone makes you want to guess or withdraw.

After trying it, ask whether the question improved understanding and whether its timing was appropriate. Perhaps the person needed a pause before discussing logistics. That does not make the exercise a failure; it gives you information about how to adapt the response. Established behavior can still need flexibility, and a thoughtful adjustment is more useful than rigidly applying a phrase because it sounded constructive in advance.

Maintain strengths without becoming complacent

A favorable band does not mean complaints from other people are irrelevant. Listen to specific feedback and evaluate it on its evidence. You can value a strength while acknowledging an exception or a mistake. Likewise, one difficult interaction does not erase every useful habit. Keep the account balanced enough to support learning rather than a defense of the label.

Numeric scores and bands are part of the optional paid report; the free result shows a profile and strongest area. The useful next step is a situation where an existing strength could become more consistent or better adapted to the people involved.
