Couples check-in questions
This printable offers a voluntary check-in for two adults who want to discuss appreciation, practical needs, and connection. Take turns, allow a pass, and choose one next step together. It is not a compatibility test, relationship rating, or substitute for support when a conversation feels unsafe.

- When did you feel connected, and what made that moment work?
- What practical load would you like me to understand?
- Would listening or ideas be more helpful right now?
- Is there a small request you want to make?
- What would make our plans clearer next week?
- Is there anything we should discuss at another time?
- What is one next step we both choose?

Who it is for
Adult couples who both want a low-pressure structure for an ordinary check-in, without sharing test results or rating each other.
Begin by agreeing on time and scope
Ask whether now is a good time and choose how long to spend. You can use only two questions. Start with something specific you appreciated, then move to a practical need. Do not use appreciation as a preface to a hidden list of complaints.
The person listening can summarize before responding. A pass is allowed; it should not become proof that someone does not care. If a topic needs more time, write down a separate time to discuss it rather than rushing to settle it.
End with something both people chose
A next step can be small: protect one evening from errands, ask before offering advice, or confirm a plan earlier. Record only an agreement both people actually made. If you did not agree, note the open question without forcing a compromise.
Print one two-page set for a conversation or separate copies for private preparation. Avoid this joint exercise when there is fear, coercion, or a risk of retaliation. The questions are invitations, not obligations.
